EXAMPLE ESSAY

Today, mass media provides information on world events and there are events children should not watch or listen to. To begin with, not all TV shows or TV series are bad for children. Furthermore, TV can entertain children. In my opinion, children should be allowed to watch TV.

To start with, not all TV series are harmful for kids. There are some shows which help parents to teach their children, for example, Sesame Street which does not encourage violence. On the other hand, series like Bob the Builder’s purpose is to teach friendship and values so it could be said that children can be safe when watching TV.

TV can entertain children. TV shows are created in order to give another option so that children can spend their free time. Designers also think about the themes children want to see, for example, Elmo’s world, because it includes animation, animals, colors and funny characters.

In conclusion television is the most widely used means of communication in the world so we have to improve every day to make it more and more educational, and the TV will last for generations and we can not allow this means of communication becomes in a headache for the company. We must think about our children and grandchildren to know that this way of legacy they will leave and this is reflected in the programs that are broadcast by these media

MEDIA

1. What is your position towards media? What is your opinion about it?
R:/ The media is very important to people because it is the easiest and fastest way to learn the news anywhere in the world. On the other hand allows us to meet people anywhere in the world without leaving the house, but this is not at all very good because you lose the physical contact, the human warmth that was being used before such technology. In conclusion the communication media are one of the best inventions of man but care should be taken with the excesses

2. How do you support your opinion? Which counter-arguments may be considered?
R:/ The media are obliged to report, investigate, analyze, draw horizons and develop their work with objectivity, equity, ethics and logic, aware of the societal role. It is important to the journalist ethics, as it is thanks to his professional work, where the majority of society makes the decisions, many of these important. With the help of technology, information comes to us almost instantly and each time an incredible amount, which arises in the world and that is put into the public domain, and that after a few hours becomes virtually obsolete. The editors and heads of information have to decide among hundreds of letters, which are those that will have to publish the work is great; decide which news can serve society to make decisions.

CORRECTION FIRST GRAMMAR QUIZ

ANTHROPOLOGY
One of the most challenging aspects of the science of anthropology COMES from its fieldwork. Certainly in its infancy as a profession, anthropology was distinguished by its concentration on so called "primitive societies" in which social institutions APPEARED to be fairly limited. Such societies PROVIDED anthropologists with a valuable insight into the workings of society that CONTRASTED whith the many complexities of more highly developed societies. There WAS also a sense that the ways of life represented by these smaller societies HAVE DISAPPEARED; and for this reason, it WAS a matter of urgency that societies preserved a record of them. The commitment of anthropologists LED them to some of the most inaccessible places on earth. Most often they worked alone. Such a lack of contact with other people created feelings of intense loneliness in some anthropologists. Nevertheless, this process of immersion in a totally alien country WILL CONTINUE to attract men and women to anthropology. Now, people understand more effectively how the world works.

THE BEST MOVIE REVIEW IN MY GROUP

WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS

This is a movie directed by Tom Vaughan and the librettist is Dana Fox. The main issue deal in this film is about the Protagonist couple. The couple is Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz. The movie wants to express what could happen in the sin city Las Vegas with a very fanny love story.Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz represent two characters from New York who meet and married while they were drunk in Las Vegas. Even though they wanted to separate immediately they should be together for several months, what should bring to the audience very fanny situation. All this because this movie focuses in one of the almost traditions of Las Vegas which is the sudden wedding, in most of the cases those marriages are a product of the alcohol it is clear that is not about love. Joy McNally and Jack fuller won US$3’000.000 and if they want to take advantage of the money this two have to try to leave a normal marriage and finally the couple fall in love and show their true love. This movie is very funny film, has adventure, comedy and romance.

ELLO AUDIO

-Todd: Hey, so, Greg, growing up in the states, did you have any part-time jobs like in high school and stuff?
-Greg: Oh, I've had part-time jobs ever since I was a child.
-Todd: Right, me too.
-Greg: My first actually, I used to work for the American Seed Company. Do you know that?
-Todd: I can imagine. No. I mean it's just a seed company, right.
-Greg: Yeah. Yeah. Well, I actually wasn't paid in money. They would send me flower seeds, and vegetable seeds and then I would go door-to-door, I would knock on people's doors, "Excuse me, I'm with the American Seed Company, would you like to buy some seeds?", and people would see this, I was probably ten or nine at the time, this young kid trying to sell seeds, and you know they would buy a couple packs, and if I sold, say twenty packs of seeds, then I could choose from a list of toys or things (Whoa) soccer ball, or a dart board, and so I sold a lot of seeds. I liked it. -Todd: How old were you?
-Greg: I was maybe nine or ten then. (Really) and another thing I would do, around Christmas time, you know America is the tradition of putting mistletoe up on the roof for Christmas, well I would climb trees, cut the mistletoe and then again I would walk door-to-door and say,"Would you like to buy some mistletoe?"
-Todd: You were quite the entrepreneur. The young businessman. (Yes) Did you make a lot of money with that job?
-Greg: For me it felt like a lot of money at that time.
-Todd: Right, well, I got to ask, did you ever work at a fast-food company, like McDonalds or Wendy's?
-Greg: I've never worked at a fast-food company.
-Todd: Oh, I did. It's the worst job ever. It's terrible.
-Greg: Did you get to eat free food though?
-Todd: Ah, I did, actually, that was the big allure of the job, like I won't say the name of the company, but I worked for a major, major fast food chain around the world, and I thought, oh, I can eat all the hamburgers I want.
- Greg: You probably got sick of eating hamburgers.
-Todd: No, are you kidding, I was 15, I didn't care like the more hamburgers the better, and uh, then actually I lost the job because I lied about my age and they fired me, but yeah, I wanted a job, I was like 13 or 14 or something like that. So how about, did you ever do the paperboy job? -Greg: Yes. Yes. For a couple of years I delivered newspapers in the morning.
-Todd: Right. How early did you have to get up to deliver the papers?
-Greg: I don't remember, maybe around 6 o'clock. (Right) It's amazing I did that cause I hate waking up early now.
-Todd: Right, yeah, yeah. That job's the worst just cause of the weather, like you have to do it in the rain. I was the paperboy too, and in the rain, it's just awful. You have the big plastic bags and, and you're out there throwing the papers, and yeah, it's not a fun job.
-Greg: Yeah, and sometimes dogs chase you
